After earning his master of international economics from Paris Nanterre University and his master of philosophy in international relations from the Institute of Political Studies in France, Bernard Mokam-Mojuye came to the United States to serve as a visiting scholar with the economics department of Harvard University. Bernard Mokam-Mojuye subsequently returned to the Institute of Political Studies to secure his doctor of philosophy (PhD) in applied economics. While working toward his PhD, he worked in the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), managing projects implemented by the UNDP office in Guinea.
Bernard Mokam-Mojuye would remain with the United Nations for roughly three decades, serving tenures as a governance technical advisor, a senior deputy resident representative, and the country director for Sierra Leone. From 2013 to 2015, he was the United Nations regional coordinator for the Sahel region of Africa. Mr. Mokam-Mojuye has also served directorships with the Africa Capacity Building Foundation and the Advisory Committee on Procurement Task Force Revision Programming Manual.
